more work on the ceiling

We have started again to do the ceiling in the house - this is definitely a winter job, and the cold-ish weather has arrived eventually, so it couldn't be put off nay longer.

As the next three pictures show, we struggled to line the diagonals up with the previous panel to the right. What we had forgotten, is that we previously just set the diagonals at 45 degrees to the joints in the boards of the floor above - doh!

So, having established the angle (not very accurate, as it turned out), the next fun job is the starting corner:
voila!
This bit has to go in in one piece, till the corner is filled.
You can see one of the templates we use to measure the angles at each end - I have a set of these for right and left,  so I can call out the angles and then we measure the length of each piece off the previous one.
All those horrid pipes full of wires are about to be covered up - hooray!
Progress is reasonably steady till the final corner, then this piece has to go in in one again. There are absolutely no straight lines or right angles in this ceiling!
take a look at that curved wall!
BTW you can see the bucket containing all my template pieces, hung at the top of the ladder.
Finally, the two panels between the front door and the staircase are done!
